Events in Lignano let this area shine even in autumn. From 6 to 16 October 2011 the Free Diving World Championship will take place, but there will be also a minienduro race near Luna Park on 9 October. Moreover on 23 October a further enduro race will be held in memory of Alessandro Morsanutto.

Planet Funk concert in Lignano

More than just a beach, Lignano Sabbiadoro knows how to make the most of its live music nights with great events on schedule. No exception is Planet Funk free concert, due on Thursday 11 August at the Beach Arena. Starting from 9.30pm onwards, the dance-rock genre mixed with psychedelic and electric nuances will bewitch the public in and around Lignano, dragging everybody along an original melodic path that speaks to the younger generations.

The success of the group, who has collaborated with internationally renowned artists such as Jovanotti, the Simple Minds and Pier Cortese, reached its top in 2002 when, thanks to the album "Non Zero Sumness" they won the gold record for sales.

Art Fashion in Lignano

From July 14th to 16th, art fashion becomes the dominant theme in Lignano: on Thursday 14th, the designers taking part in the competition will show the jury the clothes making up their collections, while the following day, at Kursaal convention centre, will be the day of the runway followed by the awards ceremony.

On Saturday 16th, fashion and yet fashion: a show of models wearing the garments by fashion designers in the presence of numerous brand representatives, ready to discuss their proposals. Jazz Festival in Lignano

The next Jazz Festival in Lignano Sabbiadoro is a candidate for becoming a fixed appointment in the town, which is going to live from 30 June to 2 July, along the beach and in its most important squares, magic feelings over live jazz music played by popular and established groups.

A real immersion for those who are on holiday in Lignano, among celebrities of prestige and cult bands, with a special dedication to the world-famous drummer Billy Cobham. The event will be attended also by the New York Voices and the Magicaboola Brass Band, with Nick The Nightfly, a famous radio host and DJ, at the direction of it.

The Hemingway Award lands in Lignano

The 27th edition of the Hemingway Award testifies to the attention devoted to the theme of literature by the town of Lignano Sabbiadoro: on 21 May 2011 best journalism, fiction and non-fiction of the year will be given the award.
